I applied for my pension online 3 months ago and have had no communication from the Social Security since then. I should be receiving my first payment this month and I have tried contacting them every day without success. The help number 300502502 is useless it cuts off after a few minutes. I went to the social security office and after 2 hours waiting I spoke to someone who could not speak English and could give me no information, the person just gave me forms to complete. I completed them and after 10 days tried to check if they were correct and again no information was available. This process is ridiculous and since I am not Portuguese and speak only some Portuguese I find it more difficult to get information. In the United Kingdom where I am from, the Social Security provides translators for all languages to help non-English speakers why can't Portugal do this.
