I purchased an item from this store because the price was very attractive. The order took two days to move into a “ready for delivery” state, and I received an email confirming that the order was approved and would be shipped.
Shortly after that, the order was canceled due to an alleged stock issue. I find it hard to understand how an order can be fully confirmed and then canceled for lack of stock, but I accepted that part.
The main issue started with the refund process. Instead of refunding me using the original payment method, they asked for my IBAN. Under Portuguese law, refunds should be made using the same payment method used for the purchase, especially when shipping to Portugal. They refused to comply with this and insisted they could not process the refund without my IBAN.
Their explanation was that they use a third-party payment gateway and therefore cannot issue a refund without my bank details. I strongly disagree with this, as they can request a refund through the payment provider. It appears they simply do not want to do so.
I am not comfortable sharing my bank account information with a company that shows this level of unprofessionalism and lack of transparency. While I am not claiming they would misuse the information, the refusal to follow a straightforward and lawful refund process has completely broken my trust.
Overall, this was the worst online shopping experience I have had.
